Papé to Receive Governors’ Gold Award

Portland, Ore. --- The Papé Group and the Papé family will be honored with the Governors’ Gold Award for their extraordinary achievement to strengthen Oregon and its communities, Margie Hunt, CEO of Special Olympics Oregon, announced on Monday, October 2nd.

“The Papé Group exemplifies the best of what Oregonians have to offer – innovation, perseverance, quality, hard work and integrity,” Hunt said. “For nearly 79 years, the company has benefitted the citizens of Oregon – and well beyond – making communities and businesses stronger wherever they serve.”

The award was created in 2003 by Special Olympics Oregon and is presented annually to an Oregon individual, business or organization that makes significant contributions in inspiring greatness throughout the state. Award recipients are selected by the current governor and former governors of Oregon, in consultation with Special Olympics Oregon.

“When the Papé Group was founded, nearly 80 years ago, E.C. Papé believed that being a good community member was as important as providing customers with the best equipment and customer service,” said Jordan Papé, CEO of the Papé Group.  “Our family is pleased that this legacy, which has been carried on through four generations, is embraced by our members and is being recognized by Oregon’s current and former governors.”

The Governors’ Gold Awards is Sat., Oct. 21, 2017, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. To purchase tickets or to make a donation in honor of The Papé Group please visit
